Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Gainesville is seeking high quality proposals for the purchase and development of one or both of the following City-owned parcels of land (maps of these parcels are provided on the following pages): Parcel 1 (a/k/a the “City View Lot”) is shown on Figures 1 and 2 below. The Parcel is roughly bounded by Jesse Jewell Parkway to the north, Bradford Street to the west and College Avenue to the south. Additionally, the City View Lot shares an easterly property boundary line with the Ramada Inn and South State Bank. Parcel 2 (a/k/a the “Midtown City Block”) is shown on Figures 3 and 4 below. The Parcel is roughly bounded by Parker Street to the north, Grove Street to the west, Banks Street to the south and Main Street to the east. Both Parcels 1 and 2 are owned by the City of Gainesville. The City’s vision for both Parcels: A mixture of uses that can appeal to those currently living and/or working in the City of Gainesville; Pedestrian-friendly project(s) that relates well to the street(s) and provides clear connection with the Highlands to Islands Trail; Project(s) that will help encourage and precipitate continued revitalization of the area and positively impact surrounding properties; and A project(s) that meets urban design principles such as buildings oriented to the street with interior parking, pedestrian oriented and continuation of the vision identified in the City’s Downtown Master Plan.
