Specifications include, but are not limited to: The overall Eco-Commons concept encompasses approximately 80 acres within the 400 acre Georgia Tech campus. The portion of the Eco-Commons included in this project consists of approximately 8 acres. The limits will be coordinated with the Kendeda Building Project, Dalney Building project and potential blackwater reclamation project (which will be housed within/near the Dalney building, adjacent to the Eco-Commons). Included in this is a performance landscape and passive greenspace which will become the centerpiece for non-structured activities enhancing campus life. To enhance the space and provide educational opportunities, the project considers the installation of a visibly exposed stream channel through the heart of the Eco-Commons to mimic historical water flow within the valley. The possible stream should embody thoughtful and creative expressions of water as a narrative of the ecological process. Water should be incorporated in the design as a visible element in the landscape.
