Specifications include, but are not limited to: This project renovates Brumby Hall, a 213,615 square foot high-rise residence hall with a one story rotunda that originally opened in 1966. Renovation will include a complete update of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, upgrade of one elevator to provide stretcher capacity, roof replacement, exterior envelope maintenance and repair, and hazardous material abatement as necessary. The proposed renovations will utilize the University’s existing chilled water and steam infrastructure and will include a four-pipe system which will allow individualized climate control in each room. The project will also reconfigure all living, bathroom and some programmatic spaces, and thus, these renovations will improve bathroom privacy and enhance student amenities including greater flexibility (in terms of free standing furniture arrangements), laundry, community cooking kitchen, warming kitchens, and increased study spaces. The rotunda, main entrance lobby, and associated spaces will be renovated.
