Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project scope includes two primary components; chiller plant building with equipment yard and chilled water distribution loop to five existing structures. The District Chiller Plant building and equipment yard will be located at the south end of the Athletic Center on the Clayton State University campus. The plant building will be constructed of a steel frame with a brick and block exterior and a gross area of approximately 2,900 square feet. This facility will include two 550 tons chillers, two 550 ton cooling towers and associated controls, pumps and distribution piping. Chilled water will be distributed from the central plant building to five existing campus structures; Athletic Center, Student Activity Center, Spivey Hall, Music Building and the Continue Education Building. These structures will be connected with the central plant via an underground insulated distribution loop. The chilled water provided to each building will replace existing air-cooled chillers at each building. The replacement of these chillers will require mechanical system modifications at each building location. In addition to the chilled water loop conduits for a future data network loop will be installed at the same time.
