Specifications include, but are not limited to: Engagement • Program includes content (i.e. passages) that appeal to a variety of interest areas. • Program includes content that represents a variety of cultures and time periods. • Content is presented using varied strategies that address numerous modalities. • Students are given opportunities to interact with manipulatives: letter tiles, word cards, etc. throughout the activities. • Student materials are age-appropriate for students at varying levels of proficiency. • Students can see and track their own progress. Individualization • The program contains a scope and sequence that can be individualized for students, based on underlying deficits and rate of progress. • Lessons are easily adapted to meet the individual needs of students.
