Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Ocala is seeking proposals from competent, qualified organizations to provide management and operation service of the public transit system known as SunTran for the City of Ocala and Marion County. The awarded contractor will be responsible for the management and day-to-day operation of Ocala/Marion County public transit system (SunTran) in an efficient and effective manner. In addition, the awarded contractor shall provide consultation and recommendations to the Ocala/Marion County Transportation Planning Organization in all areas of public transit. The management firm shall be responsible to the City of Ocala. Contractor Responsibilities 1. Day-to-day operations and management of SunTran, including maintenance of the fleet. 2. Contracting for ADA complementary paratransit 3. Assisting in marketing and promotional activities 4. Employment of all public transit personnel 5. Training of all transit personnel 6. Maintenance of drug-free workplace and random drug-screening program 7. Recommendations for SunTran scheduling and stop locations 8. On-time performance monitoring 9. Administration of service contracts 10. Comprehensive maintenance program for capital equipment 11. Assist with transit related procurement activities 12. Policy recommendations to the City, County and TPO 13. Management continuity 14. Monitoring and evaluation of all operations, systems and procedures 15. Developing FDOT Approved System Safety Plan and implementing Safety training for all employees 16. Risk management 17. Accident reporting and investigation 18. Preparation of an Annual Budget 19. Customer relations 20. Preparation of monthly service reports and annual operations report 21. Collection of data for the National Transit Database (NTD) reporting to Federal Transit Administration
