Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The Contractor shall regularly and systematically examine, adjust, lubricate as required, repair or replace machine, motor, generator, speed drive, and controller parts, including worms, gears, thrust bearings, brake magnet coils, brake motors, brake shoes, brushes, windings, commutators, rotating elements, contacts, coils, other mechanical parts and electronic controls, including the testing of resistance for operating and motor circuits, and magnetic frames, using only genuine manufacturers parts or as recommended by the manufacturer for this purpose. On hydraulic elevators, the full service includes pistons, pumps, valves and packing. 2. The Contractor shall renew guide shoe gibs or guide rollers when this is necessary to ensure smooth and quiet operation; and, except where roller guides are used, to keep the guide rails properly lubricated. 3. The Contractor shall examine and equalize tension on all hoisting ropes, renew all hoisting ropes, including governor ropes that will be necessary to ensure maintenance of adequate safety factors and repair and/or replace all electrical wiring and conductors extending into the elevator from the main line switch in the machine room and outlets in the hoist-ways. The main line switch, together with feeders for same, is excluded.
