Specifications include, but are not limited to: Interprets between English (and other languages as requested and upon availability, e.g., Spanish) and American Sign Language (ASL) in different settings (e.g., classroom, tutoring sessions, meetings, fieldtrips, events, etc.) for both on- and offcampus programming and activities of Miami Dade College’s various campuses Matches the student’s preferred modality (e.g., ASL, Pidgin Signed English [PSE], Transliteration, etc.) Keeps the office apprised of exam dates or changes in the class schedule that may affect previously scheduled interpreting agency service requests/assignments. Should work collaboratively with staff interpreters and/or department staff responsible for coordinating interpreting services. Should be punctual and inform office and/or staff interpreters at least 24 hours in advance if they will not be able to make it to a scheduled interpreting assignment.
