The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This is a third row logger select thinning of planted slash on approximately 185 acres and a clearcut of all merchantable sand pine timber and the thinning of slash and pond pine on approximately 378 acres within Seminole State Forest, located in Lake County, Florida. In the thinning area, timber available for harvest includes merchantable slash pine in every third row, with select trees within the leave rows. Timber to be removed from the leave rows includes diseased, deformed, defective, forked and suppressed trees as well as a portion of the intermediate and co-dominant to leave 50-60 square feet of basal area per acre. Leave tree are not to be harvested or damaged.
