Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. Hillsborough County intends to recommend a contract modification to extend an existing contract with S&D Medical Direction LLC for emergency medical direction and physician advisory services for paramedics, emergency medical technicians, and staff chiefs in the performance of their duties as 9-1-1 emergency medical responders and administrators. This modification will extend the original contract period by five (5) years and increase the total award amount by $1,177,050.00, from $400,008.00 to $1,577,058.00. This procurement is being made in accordance with Section 3-208(25) of the County's Procurement Policy because the advisory services involved diagnosis, treatment, medical consultation, and administration for citizen facing life threatening situations and receiving life support assistance from the Fire Rescue Department first responders. For continuity of oversight, familiarity of Fire Rescue systems, established protocol, and cross training, the County has determined competitive procurement is not practicable or in the County’s best interest at this time. By way of this and future modifications, the County reserves the right to extend the time period further, adjust the scope of services in response to changing conditions and updated requirements, and increase the resulting award accordingly.
