Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. The sale is a fourth row with operator select, thinning of approximately 382 acres of planted slash pine on the Dexter/Mary Farms tract of Lake George State Forest in Volusia County, Florida. Timber to be removed includes every fourth row along with select trees from the leave rows. Trees to be removed from leave rows should include suppressed, diseased, damaged, forked and a portion of the intermediate and co-dominant trees to reach the target basal area of approximately 60 - 70 square feet. Leave trees should be healthy dominant and co-dominant trees. Sale boundaries are roads, firelines, or wetlands. Estimated volumes are 5,753 tons of pulpwood, 784 tons of chip and saw. Harvest times during special opportunity turkey hunts will be limited. This will be a twelve month contract.
