Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State of Delaware Government Support Services seeks professional services to award a contract using Federal Grant funds under the control of the Developmental Disabilities Council (DDC) to a Self-Advocacy organization. The DDC will provide funding up to $20,000 with a 25% ($5,000) match from the organization to establish a new or strengthen an existing self-advocacy organization led by individuals with developmental disabilities, with a focus on increasing cultural diversity in the membership and leadership of the organization. This request for proposals (“RFP”) is issued pursuant to 29 Del. C. §§ 6981 and 6982. The Self-Advocacy support project is expected to be financed partially under Public Law 104-183, Developmental Disabilities (DD) Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000 (or any subsequent re-authorization of the DD Act). The total amount of payments by the DDC for services provided under this Contract shall not exceed the approved budget amount contained in Appendix C. The end goal is to provide funds to support a self-advocacy organization that has or will have a Delaware Chapter with active members. The organization representatives, active members, and DDC Policy and Law Committee will collaborate to execute a plan that support self-advocates.
