Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Packaging: 1. Hot Meal Unit- Packaging suitable for maintaining the integrity of meals in accordance within local health code standards. Container and overlay has an air-tight closure, be of non-toxic material, and be capable of withstanding temperatures of 400 or (204C) or higher. 2. Cold Meal Unit or Unnecessary to Heat - Container and overlay to be plastic or paper and non-toxic and suitable for maintaining the integrity of meals in accordance within local health code standards. 3. Cartons - Each carton shall be labeled. Label to include: a) Processor’s name and address (production plant), Item identification and meal type. b) Date of production; and c) Total quantity of individual units per carton. 4. Meals shall be delivered with the following nonfood items: condiments, straws for milk, napkins, single service ware, etc. Institution shall insert nonfood items that are necessary for the meal to be eaten.
