Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Stamford is seeking to engage the services of a Consulting Engineering firm to provide construction inspection services for the following transportation project: State Project No. 135 – 340 – Summer Street Streetscape Improvements The City has received funding from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) through the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s Local Roads Accident Reduction Program (LRARP) for significant pedestrian safety enhancements to the intersections of Summer Street at Main Street, Broad Street, North Street and Hoyt Street to reduce collisions at high accident locations. The proposed design for these intersections includes proven measures to reduce crashes and improve safety, such as high visibility retroreflective thermoplastic crosswalks, curb extensions at corners, “turning vehicles yield to pedestrians” signs, “no turn on red signs”, and other signage, pavement marking and parking improvements, and minor drainage improvements.
