Specifications include, but are not limited to: 4.1 The requirements outlined herein pertain to the University's main campus, located in Storrs, Connecticut. Firms should be prepared to meet the needs of the University's regional campuses located at Avery Point, Hartford, Waterbury, Stamford and the Health Center in Farmington as necessary. 4.2 The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection requires that the incineration of human and animal infectious or pathological waste is done in a bio-medical (regulated medical) waste incinerator. Firms that do not use a regulated medical waste incinerator will only be considered for that portion of the contract that includes non-infectious, non-pathological waste. 4.3 Containers are to be provided by the contractor(s). 4.4 The contractor(s) will be responsible for maintaining all fluids within the containers as they are removed from the buildings. 4.5 The contractor accepts complete responsibility for accidents or liability resulting from handling carcasses once they are removed from the pick-up site. 4.6 There are two departments that will be coordinating the carcass pick-up services on the Storrs campus. Requests for and instructions regarding carcass pick-ups will be provided by designated personnel at each location.
