Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. TREE ROOT REMOVAL The Contractor shall, where required, cut tree roots or stumps in the way of reconstruction in accordance with the requirements of the Town Tree Warden. All tree roots, where required, shall be cut cleanly and removed from the work area. The tree side of roots so cut shall be sealed with tree wound sealer with such material to be supplied by the Town. Roots shall be removed and disposed of by the Contractor. Cost shall be included in the unit price bid for removal of concrete or bituminous concrete walk. 2. SAW CUTS All joints not scored more than one (1) inch deep shall be cut with a saw to minimize breaking walk not previously damaged. 3. DAMAGING OF UNMARKED SIDEWALK The Contractor shall be liable for all “unmarked” walks that are damaged during construction. It shall be removed and replaced at Contractor's expense. 4. SURFACE FINISHING CONCRETE WALK New concrete surfaces shall be finished with a soft broom and troweled edge. Marking or flagging shall be done in a uniform manner. Expansion joints, where required, shall be so placed as to fit uniformly with the existing walk jointing. Handicap curb cut ramp shall be broomed to a rougher surface than the adjacent walk. . HANDICAP RAMP The ramp shall be constructed in accordance with attached detail. The Contractor shall install a CT-DOT standard truncated dome insert set in the concrete at the time of the pour. The ramp shall be installed flush with the pavement or at a maximum of ¼ inch (0.25”) above the road pavement.
