Specifications include, but are not limited to: The site was previously owned by the Ox Ridge Hunt Club and served various equestrian uses. The Town of Darien is proposing to use the existing lawn for both active and passive play. A designated field area is located towards the center of the site. A half-mile accessible boundless path is proposed around the property to provide access to the fields and a walking, jogging or rolling trail for visitors. Two separate parking areas are proposed that consist of porous asphalt drive aisles and gravel parking spaces. Surrounding the perimeter of each parking area is a post and chain fence. The fencing is equipped with detachable chains at each end of the drive aisle to allow overflow parking on the adjacent grass during special events. A gravel area is proposed to house a portable bathroom and equipment shed. Opaque wooden fencing to be located along the south and southeastern side of the area for screening is not included in this contract. The sand rings will be restored to lawn, utilizing earth materials and top soil excavated from the two new parking lots.
