Western Colorado University is seeking proposals from an architectural /engineering firm for the update of our 2008 Facilities Master Plan. The University is located in Gunnison, Colorado, has a strong foundation in Liberal Arts and Sciences. The Facilities Master Plan will encompass the entirety of our 245 acre campus, 800 acres of adjacent trails and open space, 470,880 square feet of auxiliary buildings, 628,256 square feet of academic buildings, athletic facilities and assess campus circulation, parking and gateways. We have nearly 3,000 graduate and undergraduate students served by over 300 employees. Further, we would like to pay particular attention to the 17 acres of land owned by our foundation on our eastern boundary for future campus development in such a fashion as to knit into the proposed extension of city grid with highly functional pedestrian access while accommodating vehicular traffic into the proposed 633 acre Gunnison Rising Development. Projections for the needed amount of parking and student housing should be considered as part of the assessment.

    1. Mandatory Pre-submittal Conference:  To ensure sufficient information is available to firms preparing submittals, a mandatory pre-submittal conference has been scheduled.  The intent of this conference is to tour the site and to have Western staff available to discuss the project.  Firms preparing submittals must attend and sign-in in order to have their submittals accepted.  The pre-submittal conference will be held at:

    10:30 AM on Monday, December 17.
