Specifications include, but are not limited to: Applications from entities that offer, or plan to offer, a skilled worker training program and partner with industry to offer, or fund a skilled worker training program for Coloradoans. Eligible applicants will be awarded matching grants to meet the goals of House Bill (HB)15-1276, which established and HB18-1316, which extended the Skilled Worker Outreach, Recruitment, and Key Training Act, hereinafter referred to as the “WORK Act”. The goals of the WORK Act are to: • Increase the number of Coloradoans throughout the state who enroll in and complete a skilled worker training program • Increase the number of Coloradoans who can fill the predicted skilled workforce shortage in Colorado • Increase Coloradoans’ awareness of the many entities that offer skilled training programs • Ensure education and training pipelines within Colorado are adequately preparing youth and adults for the workforce and are aligned with the needs of the economy • Coordinate skilled worker training and education programs throughout the state and Colorado’s key industries.
