Specifications include, but are not limited to: CNCC is looking for sign language interpreter services on an as needed basis over the term of a 3-year contract. Interpreter(s) would be required for each semester in which a hearing impaired student is enrolled. There is no guarantee of a minimum number of hours required. If no students in need are enrolled in a given semester, we will not engage services for that semester. In a standard semester, we anticipate a need for each interpreter to be on campus 25 hours per week for 30 weeks. Excluding industry standard prep time, not more than 5 hours will be needed outside of the classroom per semester. The number of hours required may change depending on the length of the semester and the number of classes in which the student in need enrolls. The number of interpreters required will also depend on the needs of the individual student. Interpreters would not be required to be present during holidays, semester breaks and other times when classes are not in session.
