Specifications include, but are not limited to: The exhibit project is estimated at 3,750 square feet. Design Detailing: • In preparation for actual fabrication, chosen firm will work closely with History Colorado Staff and Tryba Architects Staff to finalize the design details of the exhibition display cases, graphics panels, object labels, and integrated accent / timed lighting systems. • Firm will produce accurate CAD drawings for display furniture and glass cases for artifacts. Drawings will need to be sufficiently detailed for History Colorado staff to review and approve, ensuring that proper considerations are met for artifact and label placement, artifact protection, and ease of installation and maintenance. Exhibit Fabrication: • Chosen firm will directly fabricate or coordinate a qualified subcontractor for all exhibit cabinets, glass cases, graphics panels, object labels, integrated accent lighting and specialty timed lighting. • Prototypes of certain case layouts, glass door mechanisms / hardware, and artifact mount attachment methods will be required. Graphics Production: • All graphics panels and object labels will be fabricated by chosen firm (or subcontractor). • Chosen firm will be responsible for formatting graphic design files for final printing. • History Colorado will create exhibit label text and will secure images and permissions. • The chosen firm will incorporate all text and imagery into the graphic design templates produced by Tryba Architects. • Electronic proofs of all object labels and graphics panels will be required before final printing / production. Full size paper prints of each type of graphic panel will be required for team review. Audio / Visual Equipment: • Current gallery concept calls for three large format video projection elements; a very large blended projection at back of gallery and two smaller video projection elements at the front of the gallery. If your firm is capable of specifying the AV equipment needed to achieve these concepts, include a line item in your quote to estimate the costs. Preference will be given to firms that have proven capability of specifying and integrating advanced AV equipment into museum experiences. Must provide examples of specialty Audio/Visual integration and installation in past projects. This item can be omitted from your quote if not within the normal capabilities of your firm. Video Production: • Back of gallery projection: custom drone footage of familiar Colorado landscapes from a “looking straight down” perspective, slowly moving imagery. • 100 Objects Entry Piece: close up images of select artifacts from the gallery, slowly rotating. • “Faces” Exit Piece: Mosaic of diverse selection of people’s faces depicting the historic populations of the State of Colorado. • Strong preference will be given to a firm that is capable of creating or coordinating the production of custom video elements like these.
