CMC’s IT Department at Central Services, 802 Grand Ave., Glenwood Springs, CO is requesting quotes from qualified firms and/or individuals to install VMware NSX into the existing VMware virtual environment.
CMC currently has 13 data serving locations that span over 12,000 square miles across the state of Colorado. Our data environment includes support for over 20,000 students, as well as support for over 125 educational programs. This environment collectively supports 260 virtual machines, all running on ESXi 6.5, with VMware vCenter 6.5 for administrative task delivery.
Physically, these components are installed in data centers in both Glenwood Springs (Central Services), and Rifle, Colorado. These data centers provide enclosed 4-post, 42ru racks with additional capacity, appropriate HVAC systems, and both 110v and 208v AC power.
CMC deploys services with a virtual approach. The production environment that this storage supports is 100% virtualized. That data includes SQL, Exchange, Active Directory, Sharepoint, and other workloads.
SPECIFICATIONS
1.0 General Requirements:
1.1 All provided equipment shall be in a new factory condition, complete with a full warranty
1.2 All proposed solutions will include 24/7 manufacturer support on all hardware and software for three years. If additional discounts are available for a 5-year contract, please include both options
1.3 All equipment, hardware, and software should be fully manageable by the staff at CMC.
1.4 Any and all proposed solutions must contain the ability to operate in a supported configuration by VMware.
1.5 Proposed solutions will be installed in two locations:

2.0 VMware NSX Software Requirements
Colorado Mountain College is interested in obtaining al a carte pricing for VMware’s NSX product. We are looking for the following
2.1 VMware’s Academic NSX, Data Center Advanced, Per Processor
2.1.1 Production Support for NSX Data Center Advanced, for one year
2.2 VMware Academic NSX, Data Center Enterprise, Per Processor
2.2.1 Production Support for NSX Data Center Enterprise, for one year
2.3 VMware vRealize Network Insight Advanced (per CPU)
2.3.1 Production Support for VMware vRealize Network Insight Advanced, for one year
2.4 VMware vRealize Network Insight Enterprise (per CPU)
2.4.1 Production Support for VMware vRealize Network Insight Enterprise, for one year
3.0 Socket Requirements
3.1 Colorado Mountain College will be reviewing this RFP, and will be utilizing the above software to fulfill no more than 20 CPU sockets across the institution.
3.2 Proposals shall include mix-and-match pricing so we can review each situation and apply the correct license according on a variety of factors.
4.0 Install, Configuration, Engineering (as an option)
4.1 Proposals shall include installation and configuration costs for the software purchase above
4.2 This is an optional service, and CMC would like to retain the right to purchase the software without the installation/configuration/engineering costs
