2018-120 - Transformers for City Electric

The City of Aspen is soliciting bids for a three-phase, pad mount transformers.  Our electric system provides reliable and economic electric service to approximately 2,900 residential, commercial, hotel and condominiums within the Aspen city limits.  The service area is four square miles, contains 25.5 miles of primary cable and 200 transformers. 
 
The City reserves the right to contract with one or more suppliers to provide the transformers on an as-needed basis.  We strive to keep a minimum of two transformers per type in stock at all times.  As they are used, a new transformer is ordered to replenish the stock.  The successful supplier(s) will enter into a one-year agreement with the City to provide the transformers as-needed at the contracted price.
