Notice Request for Contractor Qualifications: The City of Thornton (Thornton) is requesting Statement of Qualification submittals from General Contractors interested in bidding on the multiple construction packages for the Thornton Water Project, Project No. 12-777G.
The Thornton Water Project is comprised of approximately seventy-five (75) miles of 48” steel pipe or approved equal, a pump station, a booster pump station and a water tank.
This Project will be phased and bid in separate geographical construction packages. The packages will vary in size and location. Currently it is estimated that there will be seven (7) pipeline construction packages with the water tank included in one (1) of these packages, one (1) pump station package, and one (1) booster pump station package. It is anticipated that the first construction package will be bid in early 2019 and that all work will be completed by 2024. However, should this work continue after 2024, all prequalified Contractors will remain prequalified until all work on this Project has been completed. Thornton may at its sole option bundle some of these packages together and or resize these packages to best meet the needs of this Project.
This RFQ is to prequalify Contractors to bid on these construction packages. Contractors will be prequalified separately for two (2) types of work:
Pipe Construction
and/or
Pump Station Construction.
The preliminary estimate for the total project cost is approximately four hundred forty million dollars ($440,000,000). This number includes all costs including, but not limited to, construction, design, construction management, testing, survey, land acquisition etc...
