The City of Aurora is planning, during the fall of 2019, to make improvements to its intertie valve system. Presently the system is separated into a number of manholes access by confine space entrée only. Thus, to reconfigure flows to either Aurora or Quincy Reservoirs takes a three-man crew to operate the manual valves. The new design structure will consolidate all of the valves into one below grade structure with all the valves being automated through the SCADA system and the new structure will not be a confine space entrée.
