Qualified mechanical contractors are invited to bid the following scope of work on the Auraria Higher Education (AHEC) campus. Scope includes excavation and replacement of approximately 390 linear feet (lf) (exact measurements to be determined by contractor) of chilled water pipe.
This project can start in October 2020, once the chillers are taken off line for the season. Work will need to include traffic control as a limited number of students will be back on campus.
AHEC will act as General Contractor, coordinating this work as well as the work done by others, not part of this contract: concrete and paver demo and restoration, landscape restoration and the railing work.
See plans for specific scopes of work outlined by trade.
There are two areas of work, totaling 390 lf of pipe installation:
1.) The “West” section between the Library and the Arts Buildings, which is about 314 lf
2.) The “East” section between the North Chiller Plant and the Science Building, which is approximately 75 lf
Erosion Control: See detailed notes on Page C201 for phased responsibility between contractors. No Denver Stormwater Permit is required as the area of disturbance is less than a half-acre. A stormwater management plan is included and must be followed.
Mechanical contractor will be responsible for excavation, backfill and compaction, bringing fill to subgrade within +/- .01.
