SCOPE OF PROJECT
Colorado Mountain College’s Spring Valley Campus located at 3000 County Rd. 114, Glenwood Springs, CO is requesting quotes from qualified firms and/or individuals to perform on-call moving and storage services.
SPECIFICATIONS
The Spring Valley Campus is currently completing a capital construction project with (1) a new Fitness & Recreation Center, (2) new Ascent Center which will house offices, classrooms, bookstore and coffee shop along with common areas, and (3) a remodel of the existing Summit Student Center. With this capital project there will moving of existing furniture and equipment and storage and moving of new equipment.
CMC is requesting proposals from qualified firms to provide moving services for office and classroom furniture, commercial kitchen equipment, fitness equipment and other items typically found in a higher educational setting. Moves may vary in scope, size and frequency, may be permanent moves or temporary moves and will be on as-needed basis. All labor, supervision, tools, equipment, transportation, incidentals and materials necessary to perform moves are to be included and provided by the contractor. Moves will occur within the Spring Valley Campus and storage options may be on or off-site.
The scope and timing of any move will be determined by the Physical Plant Manager or Construction Manager. The contractor will be notified of logistical considerations such as origin and destination locations, and the number and style of furniture/equipment involved. Contractor will be required to supply all necessary manpower, trucks, packing supplies, equipment, and liability insurance. Contractor will be required to protect all flooring and walls as necessary.
The contractor will be required to assemble/disassemble, takedown/setup furniture and equipment if needed for transport/moving. However, CMC reserves the right to utilize other contractors to perform such work when purchasing new furniture, reconfiguring or refurbishing existing. CMC may also use its own employees for work with any CMC property. All kitchen equipment will be connected and disconnected by CMC Staff or other contractor.
The contractor will ensure that CMC property is properly prepped and protected for safe moving. Finishes of furniture, millwork, flooring, walls, doors, ceilings, stairways and windows must retain their pre-move appearance and function. Proper equipment and/or vehicles must be utilized for transport. The contractor assumes all responsibility for damages or lost property and must resolve such issues within 30 days of discovery through replacement, repair or reimbursement.
The successful bidder will be required to sign a confidentially provision for handling of student and/or personnel records.
