Description

1. 1. The project consists of the construction of a two-story masonry and steel justice center and surrounding parking and grounds. The building will be a modestly built structure with concrete footings and slab floors, steel structure, CMU stair and elevator cores and holding cells, steel framing, brick and precast exterior veneer with precast architectural trim and extruded aluminum windows and storefront. Interior finishes will be very practical, with wood doors, stained concrete and carpeted floors, wood and acoustic paneling and custom casework in the courtrooms and at the clerk’s desk. All other built in furnishing is simple cabinetry and window shades. The roof is a TPO membrane roof on sloped insulation on a steel deck. The elevator is a two stop hydraulic elevator, and the building has two roof top units for mechanical conditioning. The building is fully sprinklered and has AV and security systems throughout the building. The site work includes large parking lots and an entry plaza with planters, lighting, utility improvements, and a CMU connector between the jail and courthouse.
