17-675B Construction - Grandview Ponds Trail Improvements

This Project consists of removing an existing dirt and gravel trail and constructing a 2,488 foot new trail segment.  In addition to this length, this Project provides a 539 foot aggregate base course shoulder to an existing trail. The purpose of this Project is to increase trail network connectivity and safety, especially enhancing access to the Thornton Crossroads station of the RTD North Metro Rail Line. The Work includes demolition, reconditioning, embankment, unsuitable material mitigation, concrete sidewalk, erosion control, native landscape restoration, plastic pipe, and solar lighting.
 
Additionally, there is a Bid Alternate for detention pond slope stabilization and improvements. These improvements are located directly southeast of the trail’s connection to Colorado Boulevard.  This Bid Alternate consists of reconditioning, structure backfill, erosion control, native landscape restoration, and perforated pipe.
