The goal of this project is to learn more about the experience of domestic and familial violence victims and survivors in El Paso County (hereafter County), and to determine what services and support they need in the County.
In partnership with the County, recruitment, and management of focus groups with representation reflective of the community’s diversity – whether that be geographic or demographic – will be a major criteria in the award(s) of this RFP.
The County’s objective is to align with interested partners and to utilize the FEASIBILITY STUDY to establish a FAMILY JUSTICE CENTER. The awarded consultant is encouraged to help grow key stakeholders with the same vision towards the FAMILY JUSTICE CENTER.
Experience conducting focus groups with diverse and vulnerable populations is preferred. Currently, the County is seeking to qualify vendors for co-located services in El Paso County, Colorado; however, the location of host sites may be expanded to include other law enforcement jurisdictions within El Paso County if additional funding is made available.
Services must be provided by experienced consultants who have solid advocacy skills, have or are able to quickly obtain in-depth knowledge about the host agency and services provided on site, and are able and willing to work collaborative within the framework and practices agreed upon. Additionally, services are to be provided by a highly-trained staff person who meets the minimum state training requirements for victim services staff (40 hours of domestic violence advocacy training), and has minimum of two years’ full-time experience providing victim services.
