2019 - PR - 13 - City of Salida Skate Park

The City of Salida is requesting bids from interested teams for Design and construction of an approximately 15,000-18,000 square ft. Skatepark in Centennial Park in Salida Colorado.


Approximately 60% of the new skatepark will include street features such as ledges, flat bars, handrails, manual pads, bank ramps, and stair sets suitable for users of all ability levels.  40% of the park will consist of transition features that will include but are not limited to 4’ to 5’ bank walls, hips, loveseats, and half pipes. These features will come together to compose a park bowl designed to include one deeper pocket featuring pool coping with the shallower sections designed for smaller transitions to include metal coping.  The skatepark will not only be designed to create good flow so that users are able to get to several structural features within one run; but so that users of various skills and abilities can use the park simultaneously. 
The community organization Friends of Salida Skateparks is the driver behind this process.  They will be involved in every aspect of the design phase. Their desire is to build a destination park for skaters and competitions rather than a community only park.
