RFTA seeks proposals from qualified and licensed contractors to provide excavation services on an
as- needed and emergency basis. RFTA has many facilities throughout the Roaring Fork Valley both
commercial and residential. The service provider will perform services in either scenario.
Locations include:
• Aspen Maintenance Facility, Aspen
• Carbondale Maintenance Facility, Carbondale
• Carbondale BRT Office, Carbondale
• Travelers Office, Glenwood Springs
• Parker House Employee Housing, Carbondale
• Main Street Employee Housing, Carbondale
• Rubey Park Transit Center, Aspen
• Rio Grande Trail corridor between Glenwood Springs and Aspen
• RFTA bus stops located between Rifle and Aspen/Snowmass
Part II Scope of Services
The service provider must provide labor, tools, equipment, materials, and supervision for all
services performed in a professional manner and to the current version of the International
Building Code specifications and standards.
Services may include, but are not limited to:
• Installation and cleaning of culverts;
• Hauling and spreading of road base, gravel, and top soil;
• Demolition and hauling debris from site;
• Preparing subgrade for paving to CDOT specifications;
• Moving and grading dirt;
• Cleaning of borrow ditches and irrigation ditches;
• Soil compacting;
• Hauling soil and rock;
• Grading, leveling and backfill;
• Moving boulders;
• Installation of weed barrier;
• Installation of vertical root barrier;
• Saw cutting and removal of asphalt;
• Pavement grinding;
• Shouldering of existing trail and new 8’ and 10’ paved paths.
