Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Glenwood Springs is looking for a company to partner with for the South Canyon Landfill composting facility (Permitted Type III Facility). Currently the City creates its own compost utilizing cardboard, ground brush, wood, leaves, grasses and other organic material within our sludge pit that is also used to collect grease and some septage. The City is aware that there are many ways to handle compost, grease, and septage and we are looking for innovative ideas along with the standard operating procedures for compost production. The City will still need to handle certain products at the landfill, so thought should be put into how these items can either be utilized within the compost production or another recycling/reuse stream for the products, see below.
