The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Powerhouse Energy Institute seeks pricing for a Solid State Nd:YAG Laser per the attached specifications. The research project aims to develop new means to examine the size distribution and composition of particulates (dust) in the air. To accomplish this goal, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Powerhouse Energy Institute will develop and implement a setup based on laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), where a laser plasma is formed and dust particles are vaporized to plasma and the resulting light emission measured, to query particle composition.
