Mines is purchasing services to digitize and attribute a series of complex geologic maps. The maps need to be entered into a metadata format called GeMS, which was created and now administered by the U.S. Geological Survey.

Mines believes DDS Digital Data Services is the sole vendor to provide digitize and attribute a series of geologic maps. This company is used by the federal government, in particular the US Geological Survey to complete their geologic maps and Mines will be working with both these entities and require consistency.
