ITB 4679 - Colfax Avenue Water Line Removal and Replacement (Newland St. to Lamar St.)

The existing 6” CIP water main in Colfax Avenue between Newland Street and Lamar Street is inactive due to several main breaks. The four (4) existing water services and one(1) fire hydrant along this section of main are temporarily being served by surface level service lines. Therefore, a time-sensitive main line replacement is necessary. The project will replace the 6” CIP water main in Colfax Avenue between Newland Street and Lamar Street with a 12” PVC water main. The water improvement work generally consists of:
• Removal of existing 6-inch CIP water main and replacement of 12-inch PVC water main, with connections at existing gate valves.
• Reconnection of four (4) existing service lines and one (1) existing fire hydrant lateral. If existing service lines are discovered to be lead, the entire service line will be replaced.
• Replacement of all valves, couplings, and appurtenances as noted in the DRAWINGS
