R17-084 AF - Legal Representation

The City and Colorado Springs Utilities (collectively, “City”) has received a notice of claim by an area resident alleging claims based on defamatory statements, abuse of process, and violations of First Amendment rights by City officials.  The City Attorney’s Office is soliciting proposals from qualified law firms and attorneys to represent the City and such officials with respect to the claims and any subsequent related action.  The firm selected must have substantial experience defending these types of claims and litigation of the same or similar types of claims in federal court.  Clean Air Act litigation or regulatory experience would be helpful and desired.  The firm selected will work under the control and direction of the Colorado Springs’ City Attorney’s Office.
