Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT) requests proposals from qualified firms to conduct a comprehensive fare study, to include both fixed-route and demand-response (paratransit) services. The last study was completed in May 2012. This study must be completed in less than ten (10) months.
This project will perform a comprehensive analysis of MMT’s current fare system, conduct a scan of new fare technologies, perform a review of comparable, peer agencies’ fare structures/policies, gather and/or solicit information from system stakeholders, and provide recommendations for technological and policy changes (transfers, pricing, new fare media, next generation of smart cards, mobile ticketing, regional-multi provider integration, etc.). Knowing the delicate agency balance between encouraging and increasing ridership and achieving financial targets, the consultant team should be adept at developing strategies to assist MMT in meeting its goals.
