Additional Bidding Instructions

The goal of the Newton Park Forest Management Project is forest restoration, fuels reduction, and general forest health.  The project is completely located on Denver Mountain Parks (DMP) land, with a total of 312 acres designated for treatment.  There are multiple access points into project area, some improved and some unimproved.  The treatment area has been broken into 12 separate Treatment Units.  Most of the treatments are expected to be completed through whole tree harvesting by either mechanical or hand felling, brought to a landing, and processed. Some of the areas will need mulching/mastication treatments instead of harvesting due to access issues.  Merchantable wood products and non-merchantable woody debris will be removed from the project area, except where designated.   Advanced regeneration slated for removal according to the prescription will be masticated, chipped or removed offsite.  More details on wood product utilization and slash management will be discussed below.
