Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Victim Services Unit is part of Probation’s Juvenile Services Division. The unit offers support and services to victims of crime, Probation staff and other professionals in the juvenile justice system. Victim Awareness workshops are one of the services offered to juvenile justice-involved youth between the ages of 10 and 21 years, including those who may be under a program of Probation or within the detention or rehabilitation facilities. The Victim Awareness workshops size can range from 10 to 25 youth and are designed to promote accountability and increase youth’s awareness of the impact crime has on victims. The workshops are interactive and feature victim speakers who share how they were impacted by crime. Workshops explore the emotional, physical, financial, social and political impacts of crime to the victim, the victim’s family and the community. Reparation of harm is explored through group discussion and activities.
