Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Review and become familiar with project contract documents and notify the City’s representative of any design ambiguities. Provide a value engineering review of the project. 2. Develop and implement a public relations program to answer questions and keep all residents and property owners informed about the project. Program can include, but is not limited to, signage, message boards, City website and social media updates, press releases, mailings and notifications. 3. Conduct a preconstruction conference and weekly construction progress meetings with the contractor, City staff, and any required subcontractors and utility representatives. Prepare notices, agendas and minutes for these meetings as necessary. 4. Coordinate with utility companies as necessary. 5. Coordinate with Caltrans for the work and laydown within State right-of-way. 6. Coordinate with the design engineer and surveyor to clarify any design ambiguities or revisions during construction. Maintain a log of Requests for Information from the contractor. 7. Coordinate construction survey activities. Review staking for compliance with contract documents. 8. Review submittals from contractor. Maintain submittal log and ensure all submittals have been provided and approved prior to construction. 9. Provide rapid resolution to any design or construction conflicts that arise during construction to minimize any construction delays. The construction manager shall be accessible to City staff via mobile telephone during each working day the project is under construction. 10. Continuously monitor traffic conditions and provide feedback and resolution on traffic control issues.
