Specifications include, but are not limited to: SOLANO WIND LAND MANAGEMENT. SMUD owns and/or operates a variety of utility scale renewable energy facilities. SMUD currently owns and operates a 230 MW wind farm in the Solano County Collinsville-Montezuma Hills Wind Resources Area comprised of Vestas V47 and V90 turbines. Existing ancillary facilities include three (3) meteorological towers, an O&M building, and Russell gen-tie substation. Property is approximately 5,900 acres of land that is primarily used for wind turbine generation, but is subleased for both agricultural and cattle ranching activities. The primary goals for the property are: to retain the property as a resource for energy development, to identify candidate areas for future energy development, to maximize revenues associated with agricultural activities in portions currently unused for energy development, to maximize revenues associated with agricultural activities in portions currently unused for energy development, to maintain good stewardship of the land and adopt land management practices that are consistent with regional practices, and meet Solano County requirements for property maintenance.
