Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Contractor shall provide services for the following testing equipment per Equipment for Calibration, Attachment 3: 1) Kneading Compactors 2) Gyratory Compactors 3) Gyratory Compactor Calibration Kits 4) Presses 5) Hamburg Wheel Trackers 6) Stabilometers 7) Ignition Ovens 8) Digital Manometers 9) Vacuum Gages 10) Soil Ring Shear Test System 11) Auto Rice Controllers B. Contractor shall ensure that all calibration and verification services are completed in accordance with the American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM), the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and manufacturer’s settings and operational specifications. C. Contractor shall complete calibration annually between October and February. A specific date will be confirmed and preapproved by Caltrans Contract Manager or designee. D. Contractor shall be solely responsible for any damage to Caltrans-owned equipment inflicted during the calibration process. Contractor shall, at its own expense, repair or replace any damaged materials and/or parts, so as to return the equipment to its condition preceding the calibration. The repairs shall be done in such a manner as not to result in voiding any warranty/warranties. The full cost of both labor and materials incurred in the repair(s) shall be the responsibility of Contractor. E. If required for specialized repairs, Contractor shall order parts when pre-approved, in writing, by Caltrans Contract Manager or designee in accordance with Attachment 1, Bid Proposal, line item 12. Repairs shall be completed at the time calibration is completed. F. Contractor shall provide a calibration certificate, at its sole expense, for each test equipment calibrated within thirty (30) calendar days of completion.
