Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Assist with Economic Development and Housing Projects Provide assistance to the Economic Development & Housing Manager in implementation of the Economic Development Plan, Housing Element of the General Plan, and Below Market Rate Housing Ordinance. Manage business retention and attraction programs, including facilitating business programs with the Chamber of Commerce. Help facilitate private and public development opportunities including conceptual review, site plan review and permit processing. Work within the Community Development Department to create a business friendly climate responsive to the needs of the community. Serve as Project Manager for key development projects and other initiatives and projects. 2. Assist Public With Development Review ProcessProvide assistance to the public, at the Development Permit Center, over the telephone or in writing, in communicating the City’s land use regulations, development standards and development review process. Under the direction of the Principal Planner, administer the City’s General Plan and Zoning Ordinance to ensure policies and standards are implemented in a comprehensive manner. Under the direction of the Principal Planner, provide guidance and coordination between the General Plan goals and policies and their implementation through specific project review by staff and decision making bodies. Responsibilities include processing various permits (Design Review, Use Permits, Sign Permits), preparation of staff reports, and presentations to requisite decision making bodies.
