The MPCAH unit of the ACPHD is soliciting two clinicians who will provide therapy interventions to a caseload of 12-20 African American female clients with perinatal mood disorders including perinatal depression, postpartum blues, anxiety symptoms, perinatal obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), perinatal trauma histories, postpartum psychosis and other depressive disorders. The clinician will provide stabilization efforts, referral resources, consultation to referring program staff regarding client’s progress, provide clients with weekly therapy and counseling to address presenting concerns. The clinician will work as a part of the MPCAH unit’s Mental Wellness Team in accepting referrals from the team manager and Starting Out Strong Home Visiting System of Care staff in the ACPHD. Depression and anxiety screening will be completed upon referral along with therapy interventions, case notation, treatment planning, consultation feedback, client advocacy and referral linkages for clients for moderate to long-term interventions. . The two clinicians will be members of the Blue Skies Mental Wellness Team and will follow standards and protocols established by the Mental Wellness Team in clinical services. For services provided within the California Black Infant Health (BIH) team will include leading monthly BIH case conferences, attending weekly BIH staff meetings, and participating in certain BIH sessions where mental health issues are discussed to raise awareness, answer questions, address concerns and accept referrals for clinical interventions.
