Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. The Contractor shall utilize traffic line paint with latex emulsion water base that is factory mixed, quick drying, and non-bleeding. b. The Contractor shall paint with mechanical equipment providing uniform straight edges true to line. Apply two (2) separate coats of undiluted paint at a minimum wet film thickness of 15 mils. Finish coat shall be free from light spots, discoloration, bleeding, or curling. Allow drying as recommended by the paint manufacturer. c. Upon completion of line striping work, the Contractor shall exclude all traffic from the work area for a minimum of eight (8) hours. Setup barricades, flasher lights, warning signs, and traffic direction signage around all work areas to allow sufficient drying time. Do not open work area to traffic until all striping has thoroughly dried. d. In the event the Contractor is unable to complete all permanent work within the same weekend, the Contractor shall provide temporary parking stripes, letters, numbers, and directional arrows at no additional cost to the DMV. The Contractor shall use “white” chalk paint by Krylon or pre-approved equal. The Contractor shall restripe as needed to maintain all lines, letters, and numbers. e. In order to prevent delays in the work schedule, the Contractor may elect to open the next phase of construction and provide temporary parking stripes, letters, numbers, and directional arrows, then return after asphalt coat or seal has fully cured.
