Specifications include, but are not limited to: 3.4.1. Evaluate RESPECT Project's design and provide appropriate recommendations as needed regarding its mentoring practices, weekly classroom programming, and overall operations. 3.4.2. Conduct personal interviews with students and families to assess needs and determine goals. Students are referred by various sources including the San Diego County Sheriff's and Probation Departments, school administrative staff, law enforcement personnel, and Juvenile Court Judges. Despite any referral or mandate, all RESPECT students must choose to participate and voluntarily accept services. On average, RESPECT Project interviews approximately 40-50 students (and their families) per calendar year with up to 30 enrolled students annually. 3.4.3. Refer students and/or families to appropriate community resources such as tutoring, government aid, counseling, or drug/alcohol treatment.
