Specifications include, but are not limited to: The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is seeking a qualified, fully staffed helicopter operator to perform low level (generally less than 30 feet above ground level) net-gunning of individual animals for the purpose of capturing, handling, field processing, sampling, and transporting of various large mammal species to a central base camp. Large mammal species including deer, bighorn sheep, elk and pronghorn antelope are the primary species which will be targeted. The undersigned bidder will be required to provide all appropriate aircraft and equipment, personnel (pilot, aerial-gunner, animal handler(s), and fuel/service vehicle driver), fuel, and fuel/service vehicles. The capture projects will be conducted in mountainous terrain with elevations ranging up to 13,000 feet above sea level, however the majority of flights will occur at elevations ranging from 10,000 to 13,000 feet above sea level and will require specialized aircraft and equipment, and crewmembers capable of operating at these elevations.
