Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Santa Clara is requesting proposals to provide end-dump trucking services for its annual Clean-up Campaign. The 2019 Clean-up Campaign is scheduled from April 29, 2019 to May 24, 2019. Contractors shall provide a driver, truck and trailer to transport trash collected from City streets to a specified dumping location. All drivers that are not owner-operators must be paid the current prevailing wage. Contractors are responsible for all fueling and maintenance/repair costs. All loads must be tarped. Weight restrictions on local streets will be waived during the Clean-up Campaign. During the Clean-up Campaign, residents place unwanted items in the street for collection by City crews. The debris is loaded into dumptrucks by a 4 x 1 ½ front-end loader and hauled to Newby Island Landfill (disposal location is subject to change) for disposal. Drivers will need to untarp their loads at the disposal location manually, unless trailers are equipped with mechanized tarping systems. On average, each truck will make 2 trips to the disposal location per day. Drivers are responsible for submitting all weight tags to their crew leader the following work day.
