Specifications include, but are not limited to: 5. ANNUAL SAFETY INSPECTIONS The Contractor shall perform annual safety inspections of the equipment that shall be performed during the month of February. Specific dates and times will be scheduled by the Institution Contract Liaison or designee. The Contractor shall ensure, when applicable, that equipment meets the manufacturer’s specifications for operation. The Contractor agrees that a member of the Contractor’s supervisory personnel regularly engaged in inspection and a supervisor shall visit each elevator at least annually to observe the quality of maintenance and to make certain that the quality of maintenance meets the specified and intended standards. The supervisor shall schedule each visit with the Institution Contract Liaison, designee. The Contractor shall test all safety devices, governors, etc., as required by the current edition, California Code of Regulations, for elevators and dumbwaiters, at regular annual intervals not to exceed a period of one (1) year. 6. BIENNIAL LOAD TEST CERTIFICATION Every hydraulic elevator shall be field tested at biennial (every 2 years) intervals not to exceed two (2) years and the test shall be a load test certification and any defects that may be found in testing and examining the safety devices shall be corrected. 7. MONTHLY MAINTENANCE/INSPECTION SERVICES The Contractor agrees to provide preventative maintenance and inspection services for the equipment specified herein on a monthly basis. Dates of service will be provided by the Institution Contract Liaison or designee. Services shall be performed during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, State holidays and weekends are excluded. The Contractor agrees to provide the requested services on the dates specified by the State or within five (5) working days. The State reserves the right to request additional maintenance services at the Contractor’s rate as specified herein or to decrease the scheduled number of services, should equipment be added or old equipment becomes obsolete. Between the first and the seventh of the each month, the Contractor shall regularly and systematically examine, adjust, lubricate, repair, or replace machine motor generator, hydraulic and controller parts, flooring and floor coverings. Unless otherwise specified, the following work applies to all parts of the elevators and dumbwaiter, including flooring and floor coverings, machine, motors, generators, brushes, fuses, controller selectors, work gears, thrusts, bearings, break magnet, coils or brake motors, brake shoes, motor windings, commutator, rotating elements, contact, coils, resistance for operating and motor circuits, magnet frames and other mechanical parts, pumps, pump motors, operating valves, valve motors, motor windings, plunger packing, exposed piping and hydraulic fluid tanks, controller, levying valves, leveling devices, guide rails and supports, traction sheaves, deflector sheaves, indicators, hall lanterns, bulb replacements, hydraulic cylinder, plunger, limit switches, pumps, valves and other elevator signal scheduling and accessory equipment complete, where included as part of the elevator at the time the bid for this work was submitted.
